Rome

I learned that Rome used to be a Republic. However, the Republic ended during the time of Julius Ceasar and his son Augustus soon took over his place. Then, Rome soon became an enormous empire with Augustus as the emperor.

Julias Ceasar

I learned that because Julias Caesar was liked by many people. He was a brilliant leader. But unfortunately, the senators all plotted together and assassinated Julias Caesar. After being assassinated, his adopted son, Augustus, took his place.

christianity

I learned that christianity was the main religion of rome. Christianity began when Jesus first introduced it. He gained followers and when the Roman government declared that anyone who was Christian and would not worship roman gods would be executed. Eventually the Christianity spread throughout the Empire. It affected many provinces in Rome and was eventually said to be the main religion. Now Christianity is one of the most popular religions in the world.

Alexandria

I learned about how Agustus Caesar conquered Alexandria. It wasn't in the book, but I learned about it for the speech. I think it isn't really fair to turn against your friend and then tell the whole Senate that he's the cause for all of their problems. Then you siege his kingdom and take control of it after he and his wife commit suicide.... Yup, sooo not right.
