Geography of Rome

The Romans started on seven hills called: Quirinal, Viminal, Esquiline, Caelian, Aventine, Palatine, Capitoline. The hills were used to defend the Romans when they are during attack. There was a wall surrounding the seven hills, it was called the Servian Wall. Near the river was the Tiber River, which could be used to fish. They could even use the river to trade with other places.

Excellent review about the seven hills Kyle. The river was also used as a mode of transportation right?

I never knew all the names of the hills! The Romans were smart to start their empire in that area because of the protection, food, and transportation.
