Constantinople: The Capital City
I learned that Constantinople was the capital of the Byzantine Empire. Constantinople's location had a large growth with people coming in and out. It stood between Europe and southwest Asia, because of the location, it was a thriving center of business and trade. The main street running through the city was the Mese, or "Middle Way." Citizens also could enjoy free entertainment at the city's large arena.
