READ THIS!!! HARLEM GETS A THING CALLED RENAISSANCE!!!

The Renaissance was an era of rebirth of art and creativity. Artists and musicians around the world created new and improved art. In Europe, artists emphasized more on realistic and perspective art than in the Middle Ages. Their paintings gave the feeling of actually being there to watch what happened at that time and place. But in Harlem, New York, the situations were much more harsh. After the World War I, as they were suffering discrimination and racism, African-Americans turned to art and music as a refuge. As you should know, Negroes weren't allowed to work in many facilities and jobs. Most people thought white people were superior and that "colored" people were trash. And during this time, Negroes moved up into the northern states of America where there was hardly any discrimination. Somewhere in between all this chaos, art surfaced. This movement was known as the New Negro Movement, and was later on referred to as the Harlem Renaissance. This art rebirth that happened throughout the planet is very much like the life cycle of a phoenix. It will live. It will perish, covered in its own ashes. And finally, it will be reborn as new and bright as ever.
