Debate time!

For the past few days, our history class has been hosting debates on the topics of knights and samurais. My debate group had thought that knights were "better" than samurai for many reasons. For example, samurai have to have much mental preparation and training before becoming a samurai. The dignity, honor, and humility of a samurai is possibly one of the most important skills needed in their trainings. True, a knights armor is quite heavier than a samurais armor; but who needs all that protection when you are skilled, nimble, and have natural talent like a samurai?

One question that I would ask a knight would be: "How is your physical strength going to help you in battle if you don't have the mental discipline, and are too much of a coward to stay in battle with honor and dignity!? You might be wondering, "If knights are strong with all that muscle and armor, how could a samurai stand a chance against a knight?" Good question! WELL, a samurai would be able to control his emotions in a battle, AS WELL AS having the physical strength.

As you can see, samurai were very helpful and valued through out Japan. They even protected the women, weak, and poor; not only their lords and daimyo who paid them to work for them.

All in all, samurai were always able to help whoever, whenever, and for any reason. Samurai were much powerful warriors than knights, and not only in physicality, but also with dignity and more mental strength than a knight could dream of achieving.

wow so much information, now I know a lot more about samurais than before, wow I feel much smarter than usual. Now I know that samurais have to train their mind too, not only their strength. thanks!!!!!!!!!!
