samurais or kinghts....DEFENITELY SAMURAIS!!!

Samurais and knights are very similar. However, samurais are better than knights in many ways. The armor is better, and their life of training and what the different defenses that they master is also better. The code of honor that samurais follow, bushido, is better than the code of honor that knights follow, chivalry. Over all, this makes samurais better.

The armor on knights is all scrap metal. This makes the armor very heavy. Sure, this would keep them more protected, but would they be able to fight properly? The answer in my opinion is no. This heavy armor would slow them down in fighting. Plus, their sword can weigh up to 30 lbs. This can slow them down even more. But a samurais armor, is much lighter. It is made out of leather, iron, and copper. This armor lets the samurai move easily, rather than be held back, like a knight's armor. Many people would say that a samurai's armor could be easily penetrated, and that a knight's cannot. This can show that knights depend on their armor too much. They don't believe in their skills to protect them. Samurais can trust their skills.

Knights start their training around when they are 8-10 years old. Samurais, however, start their training around when they are 3 years old. Knights only master in one thing. They are either foot soldiers, archers or just plain knights. Samurais could master the sword, learn archery, and many more skills. They could do everything, while knights could only do one. samurais didn't base their life off only loyalty, bravery, and honor, they also learned many forms of etiquette, such as poetry and flower arranging.

Knights follow the code of chivalry. Samurais follow the code of bushido. Chivalry states that knights were kind to the weak, loyal to their lord, and courageous in battle. Bushido states that samurais were generous, fearless in battle, and above all, loyal to their daimyo, or lord. Many people would ask how samurais could be better if they would rather die and honorable death fighting for their lord, if they have to leave their family behind. Well, samurais owe the lord because lords give the samurais the land that their family lives on.
