Julius Caesar And His Son

(Julius Caesar)
During Mr. G's great history class, We have learned about the Roman Empire. What I remember most was about Julius Caesar And His Son. Julius Caesar was a powerful Roman leaader and the the sole ruler of Rome.. He had many loving followers and was also an extremely public figure. Unfortunately, this also meant that he had many enemies jealous for power. He was murdered by his political opponents. A "bloody power struggle" followed. His adopted son, Octavian, defeated his opponents and became the unchallenged ruler of Rome. Because he was the single and unchallenged ruler of Rome, Rome became an Empire with Octavian at its head. Octavian soonafter changed his name to Augustus or "Divine One." During his rule, a period known as the Pax Romana, or Roman Peace began.
