Exciting... and Historical/Educational(!) Sites in Europe... of Ancient Rome!

You are never short of sites to see when traveling in Europe, on the hunt for traces of the ancient Roman Empire! Here are some suggestions of amazing sites to see!

-Political- The ancient Roman Forum was the center of politics during the Roman Republic. It still stands, yet almost in ruins. It had come down as a symbol of the long lost Roman republic. Although it is not as majestic as it was before, it is a strong symbol of the mighty Empire's politics.

-Socio-Cultural- Succeeding Constantine, the emperor, Justinian I, set to to build many large and impressive public works. One is, of course, the Hagia Sophia, an "enduring symbol of the Byzantine Empire." This church over looked the vast Empire, being the center of its religion, Christianity. It is located in present day Istanbul, Turkey.

-Foods- The early Romans always ate vegetables produced from the ground rather than from trees. They ate a variety of nuts and had a relatively healthy diet. They would also feast on delicious fruits such as pomegranates, apricots, peaches, cherries, etc.

-Structures- Hadrian's Wall was built by emperor Hadrian to mark the northen border of the empire. It is located in Britain adn stretches from modern day Wallsend in the east, to Bowness on Solway in the west.

Please enjoy your trip!!! :D
