after world war 1, the Harlem renaissance took place. during this time, music flourished, this was the birth of jazz. not only jazz was played during this time, the blues and ragtime was also very popular. being a musician or a composer during this time was considered a good job. the Harlem renaissance ended in the 1930's due to the great depression when the stock markets crashed.

comparing to the medieval renaissance, they both flourished in a specific area. for example, during the Harlem renaissance music was very popular and during the medieval renaissance art was very popular. both were considered a golden age, the Harlem renaissance ended with stock markets crashing.
