Harlem Renaissance vs European Renaissance (incomplete)
Their are many similarities and differences between the Harlem Renaissance and the European Renaissance. These can be found through a thorough analysis of economical, socio-cultural, technological traits, or aspects, of their Renaissances.
There were many different economical traits that made the Renaissance happen, and be at all possible. Blacks were denied their rights and exploited as croppers and laborers. This made life in the South difficult and Blacks sought a better standard of living and relief, so they migrated North in large numbers. Not only that, industralization was attracting more and more people to cities from rural areas and gave rise to a new ways of thought, and culture. The Europeans, however, had their Renaissance due to the fact that there were less serfs to work the land due to the plague wiping them out. This, and the end of wars ended the Dark Ages.
There were also many socio-cultural traits that affected their Renaissances.
