The Harlem renaissance and the European renaissance are similar yet different because it was a time after the dark ages. The dark ages is suppose to mean the time when things are bad. Like in Europe they had the plague and the hundred year war. In Harlem the dark ages was when the blacks fled from the west and the south to New york because of bad living conditions and in search of education. In Europe during the renaissance they had great architecture, the Silk Road was used more, like Marco Polo,, and they had great artist like Michelangelo, Ralph, Leonardo da Vinci. During the Harlem Renaissance they had schools that prohibited separate schools for African Americans.
