the writer probably got confused because the greek god of the underworld is HADES, not PLUTO. besides PLUTO is a dog. :)

no the writer ISN'T confused smruthi. Actually ALL greek gods have a seperate name for them. For ex. Hera is known as "Juno" So Hades must be called "Pluto". lol that was REAL interesting.

The writer may be referring to Pluto as a name in which Pluto was used for Romans in similarity to the Greeks' god of the underworld, Hades. Or else, that is one weird book.

When the Romans adopted the Greek religion, they made separate names for them. Such as Pluto, and how Poseidon is named Neptune. They named them all after planets. :D So Zeus is Jupiter.

Well Greek and Rome are very different places/cities. The job of the gods were pretty much the same, but the names were different cause Greek and Rome are different.
