The First Romans
From Mr. G's class, I learned that Rome used their surroundings as best as they could. They used the hills around them to act as a defense against enemies of war. In addition, they used the Tiber River as defense AND as a way of transporting goods.

Yeah, the Romans were smart to build their society there! But I don't like the Romans. They had slaves!!!!! Sorry, that's wayy off topic. Well, Rome started off well. :)
