The Best Trip to Ancient Rome

In a trip to the ancient times of Rome, we will be exploring the ruins of the Roman Empire, where its cultures can be seen today. This formerly large and prosperous empire completely surrounded the Mediterranean Sea at its largest point in history.

Now, traveling to the city of Rome where most of the empire's wealth was, much Roman features still lay. The Circus Maximus, meaning "greatest circus" in Latin, was the first and also the largest chariot racing track, specially made for Etruscan rulers as an entertainment grounds, but also later used for Roman purposes.


Next, the Colosseum, used as the amphitheatre of Rome was one of the greatest creations of Roman architecture and engineering. One of the many of the Roman entertainments performed inside the the Colosseum was gladiator battles, and so many people died as gladiators. Additionally, sometimes drama were also acted out in the Colosseum.


As emperor, Constantine let Romans freely worship Christianity as they liked, while additionally claiming himself as a Christian. To today, about one third of the population of the world is Christian, a religion that began in Rome. In commemoration of Constantine's military victory against Maxentius, a structure was built, named the Arch of Constantine after Constantine died.
