Rome, A Civilization, A City, A Destination

Rome today is a great place to travel. There are many different places that make this place one of the most famous places in the world. Some of these include the Coliseum, the Pantheon, the Roman forum, the different Vatican museums, and more. The Coliseum was one of the largest arenas in the world at the time. People went there to view many different events and gladiatorial fights. Today, it is greatly diminished due to the fact that stone robbers took down many of the stones that were used to build it. This is a great place to visit because it shows how technologically advanced Rome was for its age. The Roman Forum was the center of politics, similar to today’s Washington D.C. Within it, the Royal family lived and the Senate gathered. Today, we should go there to see how the former people ruled their lands. Following, we should travel to the collection of Vatican museums. This is of great importance to the Romans. I believe that we should go there on the last Sunday of every month because they have free admission. Within the collection, people can see an array of artwork such as the Sistine Chapel, paintings from Leonardo Da Vinci, and more. We will be amazed by the wonderful artwork are inside this area. One problem that we may encounter, though, are some pickpockets that travel through town. Just make sure that we do not store any valuables in our wallets. Finally, we should travel to the Pantheon, one of the main Roman temples of the time. We should travel there because we can see a few kings and queens who were buried there. Currently, religious ceremonies are still held there, but people can still visit inside the structure. Overall, Rome has many sites and sounds that make it a great place to visit.
