The Abbasids gold. Wealth. POWER! UP! UP! Downfall!!!

Question: How did the wealth that brought the Abbasids power also lead to their downfall?
The Abbasids grew rich and and wealthy, their wealth brought them to their power. Unfortunately their great wealth lead to their decline. With all the Abbasids wealth, they started living the easy life, a life of luxury. The caliphs were enjoying the luxury. They started to grow lazy and ignore responsibilities of the government. The merchants were being attacked by bandits. The Abbasids did little to protect their merchants. This badly hurt their trade, the source of the wealth. The Abbasid caliphs started to raise taxes. They beacame greedy. The Abbasids went all the way up to power and became ignorant on top of that arrogant. They ignored the importance of their job and hurt their own wealth.
People grew tired of their overly selfish behavior. The Fatimids, who especially disliked the fancy lifestyle, challenged the Abbasid rule. On top of that they were attacked from the inside by the Seljuk Turks. The Seljuk leader became ruler, but kept the Abbasid caliph as religous leader. Later that Abbasid caliph was killed. The Abbasids could have been better rulers. They should have payed more attention to their jobs. Maybe the Abbasids could have had a longer rule. What if our president ignored his job, we would be having a hard time right? You cannot ignore your job to be a good leader.
