The Abbasids Decline

The wealth that brought the Abbasids power also lead to their downfall because they only cared about money and living lavishly. They didn't protect the barbarians which made trade weak and more vulnerable to attacks which in result they raised taxes to keep their lavish lives going. Because trade was a money maker. Just like in our society we have great company's that support our daily lives and without those company's we would have to raise taxes to help bring in more money. The Abbasids in return revolted which caused internal problems. Then outsiders launched attacks on the Abbasids, and since they also had internal problems that made them more vulnerable to attacks.
