Aladin! Stereotypes! READ THIS!

In Mr. G's class we watched Aladdin! We didn't just watch it for nothing. We watched it because we are going to be starting a chapter on Islam and that is where Aladdin took place. There are alot of stereotypes in this cartoon, but some really capture the Islam culture. For Example it seems like all the houses were made of gold or something. Actually, the houses were made of mud and stuff. Secondly, it is shown that all the people whom are high in power where this big hat. Lastly, I think it did a great job on captureing the Islam cultre, it shows that they have sultan(like a king) and that was good. These are all examples of stereotypes in the media.

The movie was very good at capturing the essence of Islamic culture, very intricately. The mud... and stuff (! :D) part was fairly interesting. Even stereotypical in a political aspect! Nice job in picking stuff up! :D
