Aladdin... Stereotypes...

Watching Aladdin was really nice, but the point was to find some stereotypes, so here they are!
There were many examples of stereotypes of Islamics in the movie Aladdin. One stereotype was that there were thieves about the markets along the streets, which was probably true. Aladdin stole food in order to live. The people who sold the items were probably mad about the thieves, like in the movie. Another stereotype was that everyone wore baggy clothing, and that the sultans and princes wore those bouncy big hats. A third stereotype was that there were magic lamps, genies and magic carpets in Islam. It would be really awesome if you could own a carpet that could take you anywhere, but these were probably not real. But, it made the movie more magical and interesting to watch. In the movie, there were elephants, camels, a tiger and a monkey. There were likely animals in Islam, but maybe not the same ones. Also, the daughter of the sultan had to marry a suitor. This might have been true. The palace in the movie was gigantic, and probably if there were any palaces in Islam, they would have been big like the movie. The movie Aladdin was similar to life in Islam.

I like how you stated that all these things, excluding the genie and carpet, were actually related and similar to life in Islam instead of just stating them as stereotypes. NIce info and nice details! :D
