P.E.S.T Analysis Essay
One reason why al-Andalus was in a golden age was because of their political features. Their government had a series of strong leaders that helped expand the empire and increase its strength. Abd al-Raman III is one example of these leaders. He expanded the empire and maintained peace throughout the empire. In addition, another important factor was their standing army, an army maintained during peace and war. Lastly, they formed a bureaucracy, a system of government with different departments to run the empire. All of these reasons benefited to the golden age of al-Andalus, and they are still shown today in our system of government. We have a system of a bureaucracy, strong leaders (presidents), and a standing army. All in all, politics played a large role in the golden age.
Economics also had a great impact on al-Andalus. Things such as marketing and trade made the empire prosperous. Furthermore, it brought a variety of goods into the empire’s capital, Córdoba. This is similar to all the trade occurring in our country today, with items such as clothes, tools, computers, and much more. In addition, trade brought necessary materials to the empire that they didn’t have.
